The Idaho State Department of Education (SDE), in partnership with Curriculum Associates, is offering i-Ready Diagnostic and Personalized Instruction for Reading along with educator training/support at no cost to schools and districts for the 2025–2026 school year.

✔ Success Criteria for Implementation
1. Utilize educator training and support.
We strongly recommend everyone using i-Ready be trained on how to use the program with fidelity for your English Learners.
- Get to know i-Ready through both formal and informal training/support—in person or virtually and on your schedule!

2. Identify the student with an “EL” indicator in i-Ready.
- Designate students as English Learners in i‑Ready to simplify reporting and groupings for teachers (strongly recommended). This allows us to provide state-level assessment data to the SDE.
3. Administer the Diagnostic regularly, and monitor usage.
- Give the i‑Ready Diagnostic two or three times per year.
4. Maximize growth with Personalized Instruction.
- Target 30–49 min./week with a 70 percent lesson pass rate for stronger reading gains.
- Reinforce grade-level learning, and close skills gaps.
5. Use data to drive instruction.
- Use i‑Ready reports to guide small groups, differentiation, and monitor progress.
- Make data-driven decisions to support every student’s growth.
5. Attend regular data meetings.
- Participate in regular, short data meetings to make the most of your i-Ready data: Monitor student progress, set and track achievement goals, plan targeted instruction, celebrate growth, and identify next steps!

Administering the Diagnostic (55 min.)
- Get organized and administer the Diagnostic.
- Prepare and motivate students to do their best on the Diagnostic.
- Identify how getting good data on the Diagnostic is the key to targeting instruction for students.
Best Practices for i-Ready Personalized Instruction (45 min.)
- Prepare to support students as they work through lessons.
- Review how to monitor student progress with Personalized Instruction.
Accessing the OEL Portal
- Log in to your i-Ready dashboard.
- Select the Help dropdown at the top of your dashboard.
- Select Take Courses under Online Educator Learning.
- Use the filters on the left or the search box at the top to find the appropriate course.
- Save your certificate at the end of each course as documentation of your time and learning.
