Adaptive Spanish Reading Assessment for Grades K–6

i-Ready Evaluación Diagnóstica de lectura uses an adaptive design. When students answer questions correctly, they get more challenging. Incorrect answers prompt less difficult questions.

This adaptivity helps pinpoint exactly where students are in their Spanish reading performance throughout the year, with grade-level placements and insights aligned to Spanish reading skills.

The Diagnostic Results report displays student performance across Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Our For Families report is available in English and Spanish so students can share assessment results with caregivers.

The Can Dos on the student-level Diagnostic Results report show teachers which Spanish-language standards students likely know and understand. Appropriate support resources with clear, evidence-based instructional guidance are linked directly within the report in the Next Steps & Instructional Resources section.

Using these tools, teachers can plan instruction at the domain level and adjust teaching strategies as students' Spanish reading skills grow throughout the year.

When i-Ready Evaluación Diagnóstica de lectura becomes available at the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year, the current fixed-form Assessment of Spanish Reading (ASR) will no longer support Grades K–6. However, educators working with students in Grades 7 and 8 will continue using the ASR to test.
