Why It Works

  • Authentic engaging content. All reading passages represent the varied cultural backgrounds and experiences of Spanish‑speaking students to foster better engagement that leads to reflecting their true ability.
  • Developed by native Spanish speakers. Students see original content developed in Spanish specifically for the Assessment of Spanish Reading and by Spanish speakers and experts in reading education—not translated or transadapted from an existing English assessment.
  • Easy to use. Students can access the Assessment of Spanish Reading online using the same familiar i‑Ready experience. Reports are immediately available, and the assessment can be administered to groups of students or individually.
