About Lucy Willits

Luci Willits has held a number of high-profile roles over the course of her education-centered career. Before joining Curriculum Associates as Associate Vice President, Government Policy, Luci was the Deputy Executive Director of Smarter Balanced, the nation’s largest testing consortium. Before that, she served as the Chief of Staff at the Idaho Department of Education. For eight years, she oversaw the daily operations of a 140-person department and worked directly with the Legislature, Governor’s office, and national education groups. Luci began her education public policy work as the Communications Director for the Idaho Board of Education, where she advocated for increased accountability and redesigned high school graduation requirements. Luci is passionate about education and helping all kids succeed, including her two daughters.
