
About Dr. Sarah Holbrook
Dr. Sarah Holbrook has spent 20 years in education. In addition to being the director of humanities at Kingston City School District, she is a Fellow at the Science of Reading Center and Adjunct Professor of Literacy at SUNY New Paltz. She is one of the creators of the Center’s Science of Reading Fundamentals microcredential. In her current district role, she is guiding the implementation of the Science of Reading across all levels of instruction. As a Center Fellow, she leads professional learning in evidence-based practices regionally and nationally, working closely with teachers and administrators. Sarah received her Ed.D. in literacy instruction at the University of Florida. Her research, Bridging Research and Practice: Creating Scientifically Based Tier 1 Reading Instruction, focuses on improving literacy practices. She also writes a weekly blog, Sundays with Sarah, where she offers practical lessons in literacy and leadership drawn directly from her experience working with educators and in the classroom.
