About Amy Manning
Amy Manning is a sixth grade math teacher at Ocean Springs Upper Elementary in Ocean Springs, Mississippi with 16 years of experience in education. She is in her second year with the Ocean Springs School District, following 14 years in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, where she served as a classroom teacher and curriculum and instruction specialist. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Belhaven University. A two-time Teacher of the Year honoree (2013, 2018) and recipient of the Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Award, Amy is passionate about equitable, data-informed instruction that builds student confidence and joy in learning. She has led curriculum initiatives, mentored teachers, and presented at district and state conferences, including MECA and MAMLE, and has collaborated with the Mississippi Department of Education. In her classroom, Amy promotes student ownership through data chats, goal setting, and personalized learning using i-Ready. Outside of school, she enjoys time with her husband, Jason, and their two children.
