About Marcus Spiess

Marcus Spiess is a Seattle-based teacher with more than 12 years of diverse experience working in under-resourced schools in the Seattle Public School District. Working primarily as a reading interventionist for the past four years, Marcus is committed to implementing data-driven, research-backed literacy interventions and instructional practices at the schoolwide level through mentoring and professional learning trainings. Marcus believes in and has witnessed the transformative power of literacy at both the individual and collective levels, and he is passionate about sharing this value with students, staff, and families. Marcus holds a master’s in teaching from Seattle University and a B.A. in history from Gonzaga University.
