About Sabine Vilsaint
Sabine Vilsaint is an elementary literacy achievement director for KIPP New Jersey, where she leads literacy curriculum and assessment work for primary grades across seven elementary schools. She partners with school leaders to strengthen instruction through data analysis, observation feedback, and targeted action planning. Sabine is deeply passionate about the Science of Reading and foundational literacy skills as a powerful entry point for equity—believing that every child deserves access to the tools of reading as a gateway to lifelong learning. She also designs professional learning that builds research-based content knowledge for teachers and leaders. Sabine’s career in education began in 2011 as a public school teacher in Virginia and continued into New Jersey at the KIPP charter network. Over the course of her teaching career, she served in various coordinator and department chair roles before becoming an assistant principal. She served as an elementary school assistant principal for four years driving assessment results and developing teachers and rising school leaders. Before coming to KIPP NJ, Sabine earned her bachelor’s degree in African American studies at Wesleyan University, then went on to receive her master’s degree in education at The George Washington University.
