About Alicia Alfonso
Alicia Alfonso is a passionate math and science teacher at Arabi Elementary School in Arabi, LA. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans in May 2018 and is now in her eighth year of teaching fourth grade. Alicia was motivated to become an educator by her strong desire to help children feel they belong. She creates a warm, inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and discover their full potential. Her love for math drives her teaching, and she aims to inspire her students to enjoy the subject and believe they can accomplish the unexpected. In addition to her classroom work, Alicia is deeply involved in the school community and helps coordinate many of the school’s programs and clubs. She is committed to ongoing growth as an educator and actively seeks professional learning opportunities to bring new ideas and energy into her teaching. Outside of school, Alicia enjoys crafting, reading, and traveling to Disney World. She is also a proud mother to two energetic boys, who keep her inspired and grounded. Balancing her roles as a teacher and a mom, Alicia brings compassion, creativity, and commitment to everything she does inside and outside the classroom.
