Jenell Buday is a Grades K–3 reading specialist at Tecumseh Public Schools in Tecumseh, Michigan. Jenell holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University and began her career with Chicago Public Schools teaching physical education, health, and science. After starting a family and relocating back to Michigan, Jenell began tutoring students in reading and fell in love with helping young kids grow into confident readers. Jenell obtained a master’s degree as a reading specialist from Northern Michigan University and began teaching first grade at Tecumseh Public Schools. Jenell soon transitioned into a reading specialist role and has continued to grow her literacy knowledge to best meet her students’ needs. She is passionate about meeting kids where they are and developing strong literacy skills that lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Originally from Holland, Michigan, Jenell is a proud mother of two and enjoys supporting her kids in their activities (lacrosse, basketball, dive, and robotics), spending time with her husband, Scott, and enjoying the summer weather at the beach or by the pool.
