Jackson Schools Proficiency Up in Every Grade

Jackson Public Schools (JPS) ranks first in mathematics growth and second in reading growth among 44 large, urban school districts, according to a recent national study of school districts across 30 states. Within Mississippi, JPS is leading the state in ELA proficiency recovery in Grades 4–8, and by three percentage points overall. In mathematics, the district’s students are ahead of the state average in Grades 3–8, and by five percentage points overall.
