About Siobhan Cochran

Siobhan Cochran is a Grade 5 English language arts teacher at Trent Lott Academy (TLA) in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s in elementary education and obtained her National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts-Early and Middle Childhood in 2019. As a teacher for 17 years, she was named the Teacher of the Year at Cherokee Elementary School in 2018–2019 and at TLA in 2023–2024. She was also the state of Mississippi’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year. Siobhan has a 19-year-old son who is currently stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and a daughter in Grade 3. They all enjoy fishing and swimming. As a military brat, Siobhan moved numerous times, which meant she often changed schools. She had her fair share of good teachers but even more of the not-so-great teachers. She was inspired to become one of those teachers who her students would remember by making learning fun.
