About Charles Giannone
Charles Giannone grew up in a positive and happy school environment with fond memories of former teachers and a father in education as a role model. After graduating from the State University of New York Cortland with a degree in elementary education, he moved back to Long Island, New York to further his education with a master's in literacy education and begin his teaching career. Today, with 20 years of experience, he has taught Grades 1–4 and currently teaches Grade 2 in the Riverhead School District. Over the years, he has participated in talent shows and story nights, taught professional learning courses, was a lead teacher in the literacy initiative, and is currently on the technology committee. While commuting through an area rich with farmland, he developed an appreciation for agriculture. Three years ago, he began participating in New York State Agriculture Literacy Week with his class, providing enriching experiences that don’t fit the mold of the traditional in-class curriculum. Outside of work, Charles is a husband and father of three. In his spare time, he co-hosts The Fandalorians: Teachers by Day, Nerds by Night podcast. Charles takes great pride in being a public school educator and works to ensure each of his students grows academically, socially, and emotionally while in his care.
