For Educators (Resources for Academic Grade Levels 1-9): 

The resources below are from the Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills II (CIBS II). Download the materials that are most academically appropriate for a student.  

  • Oral Reading Assessment: This assessment can help determine the highest grade level at which the student reads comfortably, useful information for choosing reading materials for the student to read independently.
  • Mathematics Grade Placement: These tests provide a means of making a quick grade-placement estimate of a student’s mathematics skills, helpful for planning individual instruction for the student. To start, choose a Grade: Grade K | Grade 1 | Grade 2 | Grade 3 | Grade 4 Grade 5 | Grade 6 | Grade 7 | Grade 8
  • Observations Checklists: Students with speech (or hearing) problems are typically identified by speech (or auditory) screening or by teacher observations. For Families of Students Who Have a Transition Plan

Download the Transition Skills Activities lessons below that address skills that would be most helpful and appropriate for a student to discuss and work on at home with their family.  

  • Educational and Career Interests: Students need guidance in developing educational and career awareness and understanding about their postsecondary choices. This lesson is designed as a series of discussion topics to help students think about their future. 
  • Grocery Shopping: Students need to combine knowledge of a healthy diet and budgeting skills as they shop for food. In this lesson, students learn how to make wise food and monetary choices.  
  • Preparing Food: Students need to know how to prepare meals and handle food safely, both for living on their own and for many jobs. In this lesson, students learn how to work in a kitchen and follow recipes.  
  • Voting: Students need to understand that voting is a citizen’s right and responsibility. In this lesson, students learn about registering to vote, the process of making decisions about candidates, voting, and the act of voting.
