Rehumanizing Mathematics Learning through Culturally Responsive Mathematics Teaching

Overview

Measuring students based on their innate abilities only tells us so much about their identities as mathematics learners. How can you reframe your mindset to view all students as capable of mathematical thinking? Rehumanizing mathematics teaching centers the pursuit of understanding above received knowledge. In this webinar, you’ll learn that removing relevancy from mathematics instruction constrains student learning. Instead of emphasizing rote procedures, providing real-world applications can positively impact a student’s confidence and comprehension.
