District Sees Largest Math Score Increase in Its History

Overview

Identifying Persistent Gaps Improves Outcomes

Gadsden Independent School District saw the greatest mathematics score increase in its 150-year history—640 percent—from 2021–2022, despite high levels of poverty, historically low achievement, and a significant number of English Learners who often start school below grade level. The district leveraged i-Ready's authentic Spanish resources to break down barriers to understanding and used i-Ready Classroom Mathematics to provide practice that met the rigor of the standards, moving students from five percent to 37 percent On or Above Grade Level.
