Community Outreach Garners National Attention
Cajon Valley Union School District, an elementary school district of almost 17,000 students, has a large refugee and English Learner population. To meet diverse student needs, the district offered resources, including establishing a Family and Community Engagement Office, bilingual liaisons, and career workshop opportunities for parents. The district's strong community connection and supportive, results-based school culture helped students, educators, and families during a rapid change to remote learning due to COVID-19.
