Curriculum Associates' BRIGANCE Special Education family of products has been officially re-endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), a division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). BRIGANCE Special Education, which was originally endorsed in 2013, recently underwent a rigorous evaluation based on its marketability, feasibility, research base, and performance in field tests, customer satisfaction, company reputation, and enhancement of professional practice as advocated by CASE.
“The ongoing endorsement from the CASE organization is a testament to the validity, reliability, and comprehensiveness of the BRIGANCE family of products in the special education setting,” said Rob Waldron, CEO of Curriculum Associates. “This program has a long history of helping meet the needs of both special educators and exceptional students.”
The multi-component BRIGANCE Special Education program includes assessment, screening, and instructional tools that help special educators provide early and ongoing interventions for students with special needs. With the program, educators can meet IDEA requirements and address state and College and Career Readiness Standards; develop measurable goals and objectives for IEPs and plan individualized instruction; and monitor student progress.
Included in the BRIGANCE Special Education program is the Inventory of Early Development (IED) III (both criterion-referenced and norm-referenced) to assess students' developmental skills; the Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills (CIBS) II (both criterion-referenced and norm-referenced) to assess students' academic skills; and the Transition Skills Inventory (TSI) and Transition Skills Activities to identify students' transition needs and build key transition skills. The BRIGANCE Screens III, a line of developmental screening tools for birth through first grade, are also available.
