About L. Renea Arias
L. Renea Arias is an educator who serves Kingsland Elementary School in Kingsland, GA as a Title I educator, ESOL instructor, and academic interventionist. Renea has an appreciation for learning both personally and professionally. This passion led to a chemistry and biology degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, a master’s degree in curriculum and instructional design from Arizona State University, and an educational specialist degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. Most of Renea’s 10-year teaching career has been spent in primary education. Renea is a member of her school’s fundraising committee, safety committee, site-based budget curriculum committee, STEAM committee, and yearbook committee. While Renea did not begin her career as an educator, she became a teacher because of the deficits her daughter experienced. While working a full-time senior scientist job overnight, Renea enrolled in a master’s level education program to learn how to help her child. What she learned and applied to her daughter’s teaching helped Renea see firsthand how explicit, systematic, and spiraled instruction using research-based programs like i-Ready, from an early age, yields proficiency and academic success. This is what drives her passion for being an educator.
