About Jasmine Applewhite

Jasmine Applewhite earned her bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in English and speech communications, and her master’s in secondary education from William Carey University. She is currently working toward her specialist in educational leadership degree. Jasmine’s greatest contribution to education is how she serves her students and peers. She is a member of the leadership team at Laurel Middle School in Mississippi and was honored as the 2023–2024 Teacher of the Year. She believes every individual has the right to learn and express themselves, and she strives to change as many lives as possible by understanding how students learn. Jasmine focuses on providing her students with a classroom environment that feels like home, the tools they need to be successful in learning, and a community of peers and parents. She is a small business owner of Designed2Teach, specializing in teacher support and providing services for those in need. She takes pride in working with parents to tutor students in her neighborhood, with her church to support students with school supplies, and with new teachers.
