How is using i-Ready Personalized Instruction with fidelity associated with state test performance?
On the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), across all grades in both reading and mathematics, students who used i-Ready Personalized Instruction with fidelity demonstrated higher state test scores and were more likely to be proficient than students who did not use i-Ready Personalized Instruction with fidelity.
To understand the association between the use of i-Ready Personalized Instruction and performance on the SBA, Curriculum Associates evaluated SBA scores and proficiency levels for 197,173 students in Grades 3–8 across 61 school districts in four states: California, Oregon, Washington, and Delaware. These analyses examined the difference in state scores and proficiency rates between students who used i-Ready Personalized Instruction with fidelity and students using the program less consistently, accounting for fall performance.
