Overview

Published: December 2023

This study analyzed the impact of using i-Ready Personalized Instruction on Grades 5 and 6 students’ scores on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) Mathematics assessments in 2021–2022. It found that any use of i-Ready Personalized Instruction was associated with higher MCAS Mathematics scores compared to similar students who did not use i-Ready Personalized Instruction. Moreover, the use of i-Ready Personalized Instruction for Mathematics in Grade 5 according to Curriculum Associates’ guidance was associated with even greater improvements in MCAS Mathematics scores than the previous analysis. Sample sizes were not large enough to permit analyses in Grade 6. This study was designed to meet the standards for Every Student Succeeds Act Level 2 evidence.
