Curriculum Associates Earns Top Score on the 2025 Disability Index

Leading edtech company recognized as Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion

NORTH BILLERICA, MA, July 24, 2025

Curriculum Associates today announced that it has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” on the 2025 Disability Index, recognizing its commitment to advancing disability inclusion and building a workplace where all employees can contribute to and drive long-term success. The Disability Index is the world’s leading third-party benchmarking tool for evaluating corporate disability inclusion, used by hundreds of companies globally.

“Fostering a workplace that strives to empower every employee to contribute and perform their best is a critical part of our strategy to drive innovation and continue to create accessible products and services for our customers,” said Allison Johnson, associate vice president of accessibility, authenticity, and belonging at Curriculum Associates. “Receiving this recognition is an affirmation of our ongoing efforts to continually make our culture more accessible. Universal access makes a better world for everyone, and we look forward to continuing this work.”

The Disability Index measures performance across six key areas, including Culture & Leadership, Enterprise-Wide Access, Employment Practices, Community Engagement, Supplier Inclusion, and Responsible Procurement. Curriculum Associates excelled in various categories, including culture, leadership, recruitment, and accommodations. Curriculum Associates has implemented specific inclusion initiatives such as:

  • Creating accessible maps of Curriculum Associates’ offices to provide all employees, including those who are blind or have low vision, with directions to any point of interest in the building based on their location
  • Putting processes and procedures in place to support requests for accommodations
  • A centralized accessibility team that supports companywide and role-specific training. Accessibility considerations are incorporated throughout product development processes.
  • Visual and audible emergency alarms as well as braille signs on each emergency staircase
  • Performing regular manual testing with assistive technology users and keeping documentation of current accessibility status of key products as well as a commitment/plan for ongoing improvements
  • Planning to ensure social media/digital content postings are accessible, including video captions, alt text, and more

“As someone living with a disability, it is incredibly rewarding to work for a company that embraces disability inclusion as a core part of its operations,” said Noah Segal, data and production manager at Curriculum Associates. “Our senior leadership has been nothing but supportive in empowering our ongoing efforts to increase accessibility within the company. The scorecard we received from Disability:IN provides us with a roadmap to continue to make Curriculum Associates a better place to work for everyone. I am proud to be a part of an organization that cares so deeply.”
