NORTH BILLERICA, MA, January 14, 2014—Massachusetts-based educational publisher Curriculum Associates has promoted Katie Nicholson to Vice President of Online Assessment. In this role, Nicholson will drive the strategic direction and oversight of the award-winning i-Ready® online assessment program, including its adaptive Diagnostic, progress monitoring assessments, and future assessment offerings. Nicholson will additionally lead all of the company's research and efficacy studies.

Nicholson joined Curriculum Associates in 2009 as Director of BRIGANCE® products, a long-standing and trusted family of special education and early childhood assessment, screening, and instructional tools for students. During her first year with the company, Nicholson nearly doubled the product's revenue. Earlier this year, Nicholson successfully launched the new BRIGANCE Inventory of Early Development (IED) III and Screens III with all-new content and new standardization and validation studies, which Nicholson guided. In addition to her new responsibilities as Vice President of Online Assessment, Nicholson will continue to manage the BRIGANCE line of products.
Prior to joining Curriculum Associates, Nicholson was a case team leader at The Bridgespan Group, a Boston-based nonprofit advisor and resource for mission-driven organizations and philanthropists. Prior to that, Nicholson served as Senior Director of External Affairs at Boston-based Jumpstart for Young Children, Inc. where she supported the growth, strategic direction, and external presence of the national Early Education organization.
Nicholson holds her B.A. in Psychology from Amherst College and her M.A. in Education and M.B.A. from Stanford University.
