Privacy Statement
Privacy on Curriculum Associates’ Website
Last Modified: September 30, 2026
Curriculum Associates, LLC (“Curriculum Associates” or “We”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit or are routed to the website CurriculumAssociates.com (the “CA Website”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. This policy applies to information we collect on the CA Website. Information collected through use of the offerings on the i-Ready platform is governed by the i-Ready Platform Privacy Policy.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. By accessing or using the CA Website, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of the CA Website after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.
Children's Privacy
The CA Website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on the CA Website. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. This includes CA Assist, the chatbot described below under “Our Website Chatbot.” CA Assist is not directed to children and should not be used by children under 16.
Information We Collect about You and How We Collect It
We collect several types of information from and about users of the CA Website, including information about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access the CA Website, and usage details.
We collect personal information directly from you when you provide it to us. For example, if you chat with CA Assist, our website’s AI-driven chat service, then we will use that information in support of your specific request and your future service needs. See “Our Website Chatbot” below for additional details specific to that feature. We may also use the information collected on the CA Website for sales and marketing purposes. If you provide us with your email address, we may attempt to contact you at that address regarding quote requests. We may also send you periodic emails about our products and our company.
CA Website Chatbot
CA website features CA Assist, an automated chat assistant you may use by typing or by speaking. When you interact with CA Assist, you are communicating with an AI system, not a human. CA Assist can make mistakes. CA Assist is provided on an AS-IS basis, does not constitute professional advice, and may generate inaccurate or incomplete information. You should verify important information independently.
CA Assist collects the text of the messages you send, CA Assist's responses to you, and, if you choose to use voice input, a text transcription of your spoken words. We use this information to respond to your questions, offer our products to you and market to you, to operate and improve CA Assist, and for security and fraud prevention purposes. We do not sell or share personal information collected through CA Assist for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information collected elsewhere on the CA Website may be sold or shared subject to your opt-out choices described in this policy, including Global Privacy Control signals and our “Your Privacy Choices” link.
CA Assist is operated using Qualified, a Salesforce product. Qualified uses LLM providers to generate CA Assist's responses and, where you use voice input, to convert your speech to text. These service providers are contractually restricted to using this information only to provide these services to us. LLM providers are contractually required to process CA Assist conversations under a zero data retention arrangement where they do not retain your messages, voice input or CA Assist's responses after generating a response to you.
We do not use CA Assist conversations to train or improve our own artificial intelligence models. Qualified and their service providers are contractually prohibited from using CA Assist conversations to train or improve their models.
If you choose to speak with CA Assist, your speech is converted to text. Audio files are deleted immediately once speech-to-text processing is complete. Only the text transcript is kept, and it is encrypted in transit and at rest and retained in accordance with the 90-day schedule described below. A limited number of authorized CA personnel review CA Assist transcripts to monitor quality and safety and to improve how CA Assist responds. Access is restricted to those who need it for these purposes.
We retain CA Assist conversation data, meaning the text of your messages, CA Assist’s responses, and text transcripts of voice input, for no more than 90 days, after which it is deleted — except where we are required to retain it to comply with a legal obligation or to preserve it in connection with an actual or anticipated legal claim. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information about CA Assist usage, which does not identify you, for longer periods to analyze and improve the service. This 90-day schedule applies only to CA Assist conversation data. Information you provide through CA Assist that we add to our customer or prospect records, such as your name, email address, or organization, is retained in accordance with our retention practices and is not deleted on this schedule.
Please do not enter sensitive personal information into CA Assist, including information about students or children. CA Assist is not intended for processing student education records, student personal information, or other information protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Do not enter such information. CA Assist is not directed to, and should not be used by children under 16. See “Children’s Privacy” above.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Utah, or Virginia, the rights described below under “California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Utah, and Virginia Residents” apply to information collected through CA Assist.
As you navigate through and interact with the CA Website, including through interactions with CA Assist, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns including, but not limited to, usage details, IP addresses, and other information. We use Google Analytics™ to track and store this information. For more information about Google Analytics, please see the Google Privacy Policy. This information helps us improve the CA Website and deliver a better and more informative experience. The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of the CA Website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so it will refuse cookies or we detect a Global Privacy Control opt-out preference signal, our system may issue cookies when you direct your browser to the CA Website, subject to your choices in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Preference Center. For more information about the cookies used by Curriculum Associates, please visit our Cookie Policy.
Google Analytics™ is a trademarked brand feature of Google, Inc. in the US and/or other countries.
We use third parties (“Service Providers”), including Facebook, in order to better understand our users’ needs and to deliver a better and more informative experience with the CA Website. Our Service Providers help us better understand our users’ experience on the CA Website (e.g., how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click on, etc.), including, in some cases, by providing users with interest-based advertising. These Service Providers may use or receive cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect and evaluate data on our users’ behavior and their devices. Service Providers may also capture or receive browser information, advertising data, and location data (not precise coordinates—country, state, city and zip/postal code level only). CA and our Service Providers do not use this information to identify individual users. Certain information collected, such as IP address, may be considered personal information under applicable law. Our Service Providers may create and use de-identified, aggregated, non-personally identifiable information derived from such content and data for purposes of improving their services, and for benchmarking and reporting purposes. For further details about how Facebook may use information collected through your use of the CA Website, please review the respective privacy policies of Facebook. Note that these Service Providers are used in support of the CA Corporate Website only. They are not used in i-Ready.
We honor Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals as a valid opt-out preference signal where required by law, including residents of states that recognize a universal opt-out mechanism. When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information and targeted advertising, and we will provide confirmation that the signal was honored. This signal is treated as a frictionless opt-out preference signal. You do not need to create an account or pay a fee to use it, and we will not ask you to opt back in for at least 12 months.
How We Use Your Information
We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, to present the CA Website and its contents to you, to provide you notices, and to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide us the information.
Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this privacy policy to contractors we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them or as expressly stated herein. This includes service providers that support CA Assist, as described above under “Our Website Chatbot.” We may also disclose personal information to a buyer or other successor entity in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Curriculum Associates’ assets, whether as a growing concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Curriculum Associates about the CA Website users is among the assets transferred.
We may also disclose your personal information to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, to enforce our Terms of Use, or if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Curriculum Associates, our customers, or others.
Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You may send us an email at privacy@cainc.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement. If you request deletion of your User Contributions on the CA Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other CA Website users. Proper access and use of information provided on the CA Website, including User Contributions, is governed by our Terms of Use.
