Districts across the Country Highlight Student Growth and Academic Recovery with i-Ready® Programs
As the school year comes to a close, districts across the country are sharing results that highlight continued student growth in reading and mathematics.
NORTH BILLERICA, MA, June 18, 2026As the school year comes to a close, districts across the country are sharing results that highlight continued student growth in reading and mathematics. Educators and school leaders report that i-Ready has helped identify learning gaps, personalize instruction, and support academic recovery efforts, contributing to improved student outcomes across grade levels.
These stories come as schools continue evaluating strategies that help students succeed and recover from the academic disruptions of recent years. From Massachusetts to Kentucky to Georgia, districts are highlighting how evidence-based instructional tools and teacher-led interventions are helping students make meaningful progress.
At the same time, a growing number of education leaders are calling for a more nuanced conversation about technology in schools. In a recent District Administration op-ed, former North Carolina Superintendent Catherine Truitt and former Utah Superintendent Sydnee Dickson argue that discussions about educational technology should focus less on screen time alone and more on whether a tool is helping students learn. They encourage policymakers and educators to evaluate technology based on student outcomes, educator impact, and its ability to support effective teaching and learning.
Below is a roundup of recent coverage and district success stories highlighting student achievement, academic growth, and the role of i-Ready in supporting educators and students nationwide.
iBerkshires.com: Williamstown Elementary Principal Making Plans to Use New Math Position [Stephen Dravis, June 16, 2026]
Williamstown Elementary School will be hiring a math interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year. Students exceed scores of their peers in neighboring schools on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) tests, but the elementary school still continues to see a decline in the number of students performing on or above grade level in standardized testing.
"To address that slippage, WES last year implemented a new mathematics curriculum, i-Ready. And the investment is paying off, Torres told the committee.
'We definitely see a significant reduction in the students behind or below grade level,' he told the panel, showing a slide that outlined i-Ready student assessment data collected in the fall, winter and spring of the 2025–26 school year."
WPSD Local 6: Paducah Public Schools recognized for post-COVID math recovery gains [Ben Overby, June 15, 2026]
Paducah Public Schools is one of six school districts in Kentucky that has been recognized for Grades 3–8 math performance improvements after the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Paducah Kentucky Summative Assessment middle school math Index, "scores rose from 45.6 in 2022 to 53.8 in 2025, with average elementary scores rising from 52 to 65.4 over the same period. Subgroups that saw systemic improvement included African American students and economically disadvantaged students."
Will Black, the assistant superintendent for Paducah Public Schools, said he credits high-quality instructional resources, including i-Ready Classroom Mathematics for elementary schools as one of the contributing factors for this success.
Clark Elementary Principal Kelly Workman also said i-Ready Classroom Mathematics creates more options for students. "i-Ready is giving them other options to learn how to solve different types of problems, so it's going beyond just math skills. It's giving them those critical thinking skills as they mature and get older and progress through the grade levels."
