Authored by reading expert Dr. Anita Archer, Phonics for Reading is a systematic, research-based intervention program that equips readers in Grades 3–12 who need support with skills to decode with confidence. Phonics for Reading ties seamlessly into i-Ready Assessment data, enabling you to identify the population of students in need and the level of support each student requires.

PHONICS for Reading Sample Level 1.

Student Book and Teacher Guide: Lesson Sample—Level 1

Level 1 includes 30 teacher-directed Phonics lessons that focus on short vowels, consonants, consonant blends, and digraphs. The Level 1 sample includes the scope and sequence, the Teacher Guide front matter, and the combined Student and Teacher Lesson 1 sample.

PHONICS for Reading Sample Level 2.

Student Book and Teacher Guide: Lesson Sample—Level 2

Level 2 includes 32 teacher-directed Phonics lessons that focus on vowel combinations, r-controlled vowel sounds, common endings, and CVCe words. The Level 2 sample includes the scope and sequence, the Teacher Guide front matter, and the combined Student and Teacher Lesson 1 sample.

PHONICS for Reading Sample Level 3.

Student Book and Teacher Guide: Lesson Sample—Level 3

Level 3 includes 36 teacher-directed Phonics lessons that expand concepts with vowel/letter combinations, common prefixes and suffixes, minor consonant sounds for c and g, and minor vowel sound combinations. The Level 3 sample includes the scope and sequence, the Teacher Guide front matter, and the combined Student and Teacher Lesson 1 sample.

This Placement Test can be used for placement of students into Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 of Phonics for Reading. It can also be used to measure students' progress.
