About Donnetta Chapman Booker
Donnetta Chapman Booker is a first-grade teacher at Lake Elementary in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She began her education career in 2012 as an assistant with the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, later earning her associate's degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and her bachelor's in Elementary Education from William Carey University. After teaching third grade at Arlington Heights Elementary, she returned to Lake Elementary in 2024 as a first-grade teacher. Donnetta is a recognized A+ teacher in Math and Reading and was voted Teacher of the Year by her peers. She's currently pursuing a Master's degree in Dyslexia Therapy at the University of West Alabama to better serve students with reading challenges. Outside of school, she's a proud mother of three who finds purpose in her faith and joy in cheering on her kids.
