About Becki Cope

Becki Cope is a kindergarten teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary School (PHES) in Mississippi and has been teaching for the past 22 years. Her mother taught for 37 years, which inspired her to teach. Becki has always loved children, was always around teachers, and always knew teaching was her destiny. She attends professional learning opportunities to enhance her knowledge and continues her relationships with her students and parents even after they leave her class. She has attended soccer games, baseball games, and recitals outside of school. She likes to joke that she spends more time in her classroom from August to May than she does at home. Becki is a leader in her school and district, a PHES Guiding Coalition Team member, 2020–2021 PHES Teacher of the Year, PHES Math Kindergarten Committee Member, and a Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator, class of 2022. Becki holds a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from Morehead State University and a fifth-year degree in reading and special education from Northern Kentucky University.
