Training
The BRIGANCE Early Childhood Screens III is recommended to be used as a readiness screener for all children 0–35 months, 3–5 years, and in Grades K & 1 to determine areas of strength and areas of improvement.
All four-year-old children enrolled in a childcare center, Head Start center, and public school pre-kindergarten program participating in a state-funded early learning collaborative shall be screened using the BRIGANCE Early Childhood Screens III assessment. For more detailed information, please reference the Early Learning Guidelines for Classrooms Serving Three- and Four-Year-Old Children—Guidelines for Assessment: Requirements for Assessment and Screening.
Virtual and in-person training will be offered annually. For training information, visit MDEK12.org/.
MS Early Learning Standards (for Infants through Four-Year-Old Children) to EC Screens III
The Screens III Online Management System (OMS) is an online system for managing children’s screening data. An easy-to-use graphical interface allows educators to access and review reports for individuals, classes, schools, and districts. The OMS generates a Screening Summary Report for each child that compares their raw score to the cutoff scores for delays and giftedness and provides normative scores for each domain assessed. The Group Screening Summary Report aggregates this information for analyzing data across groups.
