Connect to Family, Community, and Culture

i-Ready Classroom Mathematics’ Supports the Goal of Equitable Learning

All students can do math. Mathematical ability is not innate, fixed or passed down genetically. It is a skill that can be learned through persistence and practice. i-Ready Classroom Mathematics’ instructional design helps you build student confidence and create a more inclusive and responsive math class. The meaningful partner and whole class discussions teach students to work effectively with peers, gives every student a voice, and honors the unique perspectives and experiences each learner brings. A variety of contexts and ideas helps students see themselves as a part of the larger mathematics community.

The Try–Discuss–Connect routine helps build the foundation for social emotional learning by providing multiple opportunities to manage emotions, achieve goals, and feel like a positive member of the classroom culture.

i-Ready Classroom Mathematics Lessons center around a student-driven, discourse-rich routine that simultaneously rehumanizes mathematics while granting access to the rich grade level conversation, connection and content. i-Ready Classroom Mathematics supports educators in helping students see their personal and cultural experiences reflected in the mathematics.
