Authored by Dr. Anita Archer, PHONICS for Reading is a research-based reading intervention program designed to equip students in Grades 3–12 with the confidence and tools they need to become independent readers.

Program Levels

PHONICS for Reading is available in three levels to support students' decoding skills:

  • Level 1: Short vowels, double consonants, blends, Digraphs
  • Level 2: Vowel and consonant combinations, CVCe words, r-Controlled vowels, word endings
  • Level 3: Vowel and consonant combinations, minor consonant sounds for c and g, minor vowel sound combinations, prefixes and suffixes

This Placement Test can help determine which levels will best support your students.

Format

PHONICS for Reading is available for purchase as printed books for an in-school implementation or as a digital file site license for a distance-learning implementation.
