Deeper Reading with Ready Reading
(Grades K–8) Ready Reading helps all readers learn the right strategies to derive meaning from complex texts.
Educators are prepared to implement Ready Reading as part of an overall reading program to build students’ capacity to deeply comprehend texts across multiple genres. Participants learn how to use strategies like instructional routines to support rich classroom conversations and develop persistent, confident readers through a developmentally appropriate, student-engaged experience of reading, thinking, talking, and writing.
Outcomes:
- Implement Ready Reading to provide targeted support for comprehension of complex texts.
- Use strategies like Academic Talk routines to foster student engagement.
- Plan a day and a week of instruction using Ready Reading and the Ready Teacher Toolbox.
Format
Computer and web access are strongly recommended for Ready Teacher Toolbox access.
