Emily Castelli has been teaching Grade 2 for seven years at Salem Elementary School in West Virginia. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education (Grades K–6) from Fairmont State University and her master's degree in education specializing in reading science from Mount St. Joseph University. Emily is a certified structured literacy dyslexia interventionist from the Center for Effective Reading Instruction and has led professional learning sessions within her school and district on the Science of Reading. Her principal appointed her the school's dyslexia representative. Today, Emily frequently advocates for evidence-based literacy instruction and believes in literacy and justice for all.
