Before we begin the TEST READY program, we do a fun lesson on the jobs of "Test Takers" and "Test Makers". The students draw pictures of how they envision the test makers. We then go on to demystify the test for the students. We list the ways test makers help us with clear directions that often give us clues to what their expectations are. (Your writing pieces are great for pointing this out.) We discuss how test makers use different story selections, but the multiple choice questions fall into pretty predictable areas. (Again your program proves this point as well.) We then use your program, gradually lessening the level of support so the students are eventually confident, independent and successful.
