Product Director | Project Manager | Marketing Analytics Manager

Product Director

The Product Director is responsible for product management and marketing of the Reading & Math K–8 product lines with a focus on our rapidly growing Ready® business line. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Product Development and Marketing and works cross-functionally with the sales, product development, and marketing communications teams to grow the business. The Product Director leads the development and execution of annual marketing plans and oversees all product management aspects of the business, including working with both the sales team and customers to identify unmet needs and gather business requirements to guide product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and driving market-specific growth strategies for the Ready business line
  • Managing the product marketing team to:
    • Develop and execute effective integrated marketing campaigns to promote key product lines and cultivate a lead generation pipeline
    • Provide product and competitive landscape training for sales reps and other key stakeholders
    • Manage all product line content on the Curriculum Associates website and collaborate with the digital marketing manager to optimize site traffic
    • Use dashboards to analyze effectiveness of campaigns
  • Leading all product management efforts including:
    • Working with product development to establish a product roadmap
    • Managing new product launches; and working cross-functionally to define packages, pricing, sampling, and messaging
    • Building the business case/model for new products and existing lines
    • Developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and target customer base
    • Managing cross-functional projects spanning the Marketing, Creative, Sales and Product Development teams

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a record of achievement:

  • 2–5 years of product management experience with track record of successfully growing product lines
  • Strong strategic-thinking and analytical skills required
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns using direct marketing, content, social and other inbound and web-based marketing tactics
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, team-based environment
  • Creative, resourceful thinker with a “can do” attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and meet appropriate deadlines
  • Master's degree in business and prior education industry experience preferred

Project Manager

Responsibilities

    Project management
  • Establishing and coordinating resource plans for Editorial, Design, and Development teams
  • Creating and tracking schedules, workflows, and budgets for individual products
  • Creating and maintaining contracts and work agreements
  • Defining specific processes and tools to support the development of new products
  • Improving processes and evaluating new tools to make the development of new products more efficient
    Vendor management
  • Managing vendors, freelancers, and other external resources, including issuing RFPs, evaluating bids, and processing contracts and invoices
  • Identifying and documenting best practices for vendor management

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent project management skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate appropriately with all team members, and organizational aptitude
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle and experience working with technical teams
  • Familiarity with state standards, curriculum frameworks, and K–12 assessment
  • Proficiency with office software, Macintosh and PC desktops, HTML, ftp, basic graphics manipulations, file management
  • Strength in developing and using product development workflows and management tools
  • Ability to proactively and creatively solve problems related to program development
  • Fluency with Web issues in general and a knack for learning new systems and software
  • A BA/BS required as well as 3–6 years relevant experience, preferably in the K–12 marketplace

Marketing Analytics Manager

Do you have a love of data and the stories they tell? Can you pick out insights that make your colleagues say, “Interesting, I hadn't thought of that!?” If you answered yes, then this position may be for you. The Marketing Analytics Manager will provide critical support to the product marketing and sales teams, with a focus on ensuring data capture, reporting marketing metrics, and analyzing and interpreting results to drive top performance. This position requires both strategic and tactical skill sets with an eye for numbers, intellectual curiosity, and proficiency at problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product and sales teams to establish and manage dashboards/metrics to inform marketing and sales campaigns
  • Analyze and derive actionable insights from website audience, website traffic, traffic drivers, and website usage and trends
  • Direct process improvements for online marketing campaigns and lead nurturing
  • Make recommendations for improving lead generation, conversion rates, and tracking of metrics as a result of data and trend analyses
  • Build campaign customer flows within a marketing automation system
  • Manage external firm providing SEO optimization support/implementation
  • Create, implement, optimize, and manage Google AdWords campaigns, ad groups, and keywords to optimize PPC budget

Required Skills and Abilities (including Education and Experience):

  • 2–5 years experience across a combination of data analytics, online/interactive marketing, statistical modeling and marketing performance measurement
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords and pay-per-click (PPC), Eloqua or other Marketing Automation system, and CRM systems
  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL a must. Experience with SAS, SPSS, S-Plus, R or other data manipulation/data analytics tools is a plus
  • Quantitative educational background (preferred degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, Quantitative Marketing)
  • Understanding of analytical methodologies for optimizing and evaluating marketing campaigns
  • Strong analytical skills and strong project management and communication skills
