Lead Developer

Curriculum Associates®, a leading publisher of supplemental educational materials, seeks a highly qualified Lead Developer with substantial experience in both FLEX and MS .NET programming. The Lead Developer will work on the Online Products Team and will be responsible for directing external partners and contractors on technical design, architecture, and coding issues through the software development life cycle. The Lead Developer will also create new product enhancements and provide support engineering services as needed for online products and CA's internal content management system.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Design and architect new product features. Work with external vendor partners to ensure vendor product designs are sound and follow software best practices.
  • Directly manage the work of contract resources developing in FLEX and .NET environments.
  • Trouble-shoot software defects and technical issues to find efficient solutions for development to proceed.
  • Serve as support engineer for existing FLEX and .NET applications that may require issue resolution or enhancement. Oversee the activities of contractors who may also be engaged in this work
  • Work with the project manager to provide accurate Level-of-Effort estimates for software enhancements and fixes.
  • Code application changes that meet estimated time lines and that properly address user requirements.
  • Thoroughly test code, as well as review the code of others to ensure quality. Establish sound coding and testing practices to ensure quality software builds. Work with QA staff and outside QA partners to quickly respond to identified defects
  • Bring new and innovative solutions to the table to resolve challenging software issues as they may develop throughout the product life cycle.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5–7 years' experience designing and coding FLEX and .NET applications. Experience with both programming environments a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with customer-facing products required; experience with educational products preferred.
  • Experience having led a software team of 1–3 people in the successful delivery of one or more products.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL databases
  • Experience working with content management applications a plus

 

Inside Sales Representative

We are currently seeking Inside Sales Representatives to join our company. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new sales and working with outside sales to grow existing business, create new customers and meet or exceed sales quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads by capitalizing on marketing efforts, existing relationships, prospecting, and outbound calling
  • Execute a defined sales methodology to grow and manage a sales pipeline by developing relationships, communicating customer value, advising customers and providing product and technical information

Project Manager for BRIGANCE® Special Education

Reporting to the Director of BRIGANCE Products, the Project Manager supports multiple projects critical to the expansion of our BRIGANCE product lines. BRIGANCE encompasses assessment and instructional products that support the special education and early childhood fields.

The Project Manager works closely with the core BRIGANCE team, while also collaborating with staff in product development, IT, marketing, and sales to support new product development and ongoing editorial efforts, investigate market dynamics, and maintain ongoing communication with BRIGANCE customers. Strong candidates will demonstrate proven coordination skills, attention to detail, and an existing knowledge base associated with the special education field.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Coordinate various aspects of product development and marketing projects, working within and across departments as an integral part of project teams
  • Conduct market research related to new and existing product markets
  • Engage with customers to elicit ongoing feedback on key products
  • Effectively and clearly communicate with sales staff regarding product issues and updates
  • Provide general writing support for product development and marketing teams

Director of Online Products

Reporting to the SVP of Product Development & Marketing, the Director of Online Products will be responsible for the overall business management of online assessment and instructional products in the K–8 educational publishing market. This position will work cross functionally with IT, Marketing, and Sales to develop the business case, define market requirements, oversee creation of editorial content, and manage successful launches for new products and significant enhancements to existing offerings.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Launch new online products and product enhancements against broad strategic initiatives and specific business targets in collaboration with IT, Marketing, and Sales
  • Manage editorial team members and outside contractors/vendors to produce editorial content for products
  • Develop business case/objectives for online products with customer requirements, market opportunity, and financial analysis
  • Establish a continuing online product development strategy and timeline
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Sales to establish marketing and sales strategies for online products and supporting materials and training
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends and competitive solutions in order to determine new market strategies

 

Staff Accountant

This is an exciting new opportunity for a recent college graduate to join our Accounting and Finance team as a Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliation, preparing and posting general ledger entries, assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as additional ad hoc requests as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required
